How our fees work

Our fees are based on the forms and schedules your return requires and the condition of your records, never on the size of your refund. Before any work begins you receive a written quote. If the scope changes because something new turns up, we tell you before we continue, not after.

We accept cash, debit, credit, and bank transfer. Payment is due when the return is ready to file. We do not offer refund anticipation loans or any product that takes a cut of your refund.

What changes the quote?

• The number of forms and schedules: a W-2 return with the standard deduction takes less work than a return with a Schedule C, rental property, and stock sales.
• The condition of your records: reconciled books or a tidy folder of documents cost less to prepare from than a shoebox or a bank login.
• Unfiled years and amendments: each year is its own return and is quoted separately.
• Notice response work: quoted by the notice once we have read the whole letter.
